Negotiation - The following items must be negotiated and agreed upon:

• When - The date and time of the shoot.
• Location - The location, both in geographic location, expected shoot conditions and transportation.
• Themes - The artistic goal of the each photo set and how that goal will be achieved.
• Elements - The visual items in terms of costumes and props that will be used by the model to produce the desired result. This includes deciding who will provide the necessary element.

Preshoot - The following actions must be performed by the model prior to the shoot.

• Identification - A photo ID displaying the model's name and birth date must be presented for recording prior to the shoot. First time models must also pick an alias to shield their identity.
• Gathering - Collecting all items that must be brought to the shoot. This includes costumes, props and makeup.
• Preening - Any activities that may be necessary for the model to be physically ready for the shoot, such as shaving, makeup and hair.

Preshoot - The following actions must be performed by the photographer prior to the shoot.

• Location - Scouting, rental and other activities necessary to provide an appropriate shoot location.
• Forms - Releases and other forms must be copied for model signing. Pens must be provided.
• Gathering - Collecting all items that must be brought to the shoot. This includes costumes, props and photographic equipment.

Shoot - The following actions must be performed by the photographer prior to the shoot.

• Identification - A photo ID displaying the model's name and birth date must be presented for recording prior to the shoot. First time models must also pick an alias to shield their identity.
• Gathering - Collecting all items that must be brought to the shoot. This includes costumes, props and makeup.
• Preening - Any activities that may be necessary for the model to be physically ready for the shoot, such as shaving, makeup and hair.

Postshoot - The following actions must be performed after the shoot.

• Forms - The photographer must provide the necessary forms to be signed by the model.
• Payment - Conditional upon the model submitting the completed and signed forms, the photographer will pay the model.
• Cleanup - Both the model and the photographer are responsible for cleaning up their respective elements.
